Having came to the U.S. at the age of 15, she intimately understands the challenges faced by international students and immigrant youth. Joanna firmly believes that general depression and anxiety are crucial issues that deserve attention and resources. “We want to talk. We want to rant. We feel isolated in a sea of people…φ(。。*). We don’t want to talk to friends/family about our problems. It is okay if we have negative thoughts. It is okay if we are depressed and anxious. It is natural. But where can we go? FYP org wants to foster a place we can talk and share anytime, anywhere. More, FYP wants us to thrive and grow. We are more than our mental problems.”
